Christina Cole has always always loved to act, but when she was younger she probably never imagined that acting would take her as far as it has. Not only has she found great success, but she’s become an international star in the process. Since making her on screen debut nearly 20 years ago, Christina has gone on to land roles in movies and TV shows. She has worked her way up from minor appearances to starring roles. She is most popular for playing Cassie Hughes in the TV series Hex. Recently, she has also joined the cast of the Cinemax series C.B. Strike which originally aired on BBC One in the United Kingdom. 1. She Wanted To Leave Hex
People who have seen the show Hex will likely remember that Christina’s character was killed off at the beginning of the second season. What many people don’t realize, however, is that the character’s death was the result of Christina deciding that she no longer wanted to be on the show.
2. She’s A Model
Christina may not consider herself to be a model, but she technically does have some modeling experience. She was one of the faces of Andrea Galer’s bridal collection which is based in Christina’s hometown of London. Galer is best-known for her work as a costume designer.
3. She’s Been In Video Games
Throughout her career, Christina has shown that she can do a little bit of everything. In addition to the success she’s found in live action roles, she has also done voice work for several video games. In 2017, she voiced the character of Eldar in the game Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III. She also voiced multiple characters in the 2018 game Vampyr.
4. She Wasn’t Familiar With Amanda Bynes Prior To What A Girl Wants
Many American movie fans will recognize Christina for her role as Clarissa Payne in the 2003 film What a Girl Wants which starred Amanda Bynes. At that time, Amanda was at the height of her career, but Christina had simply never heard of her. she told Vulture, “I have to admit that I wasn’t aware of her when I auditioned for the part. I was a bit older than her and wasn’t watching those kinds of shows”
5. She’s A Formally Trained Actress
Christina has put a lot of hard work into her career starting with getting a high-quality acting education. Christina is a graduate of Oxford School of Drama. She was actually still a student at the school when she was cast in What a Girl Wants. She was able to graduate early in order to film the movie.
6. She Didn’t Always Think Acting Was A Career Option
Christina knew that she loved acting from an early age. At the same time, however, she doesn’t come from a family with a background in entertainment, and she didn’t always see acting as a viable career option. Fortunately, that began to change and she started landing professional acting opportunities.
7. She’s A Mother
Lots of celebrities love letting the public know every detail about their personal life, but Christina isn’t one of them. She has remained notoriously private throughout her career and doesn’t even use social media. One thing we do know, however, is that she is a devoted mother.
8. She’s Friends With Meghan Markle
There aren’t too many people out there who can say they are friends with a member of the royal family, but Christina is one of the few who can. She and Meghan Markle worked together on the TV series Suits and formed a friendship off screen. Christina and other cast members were even invited to the Meghan’s royal wedding.
9. She Was In The Blacklist
Although Christina is a British actress, she has found lots of success in American productions. Over the course of her career, she has appeared in several popular American TV shows including The Blacklist where she had a role for just one episode which aired in 2015.
10. She’s Done Theater Work
TV and film opportunities may pay better and provide much more exposure, but many actors will tell you that there’s something special about theater that no on screen role can replace. Christina seems to be someone who feels this way. Not only did she do theater roles at the beginning of her career, but she has continued to act on stage even as her on screen career has taken off. Her most recent stage performance was a 2016 production of The End of Longing at The Playhouse Theater.
