Young and the Restless fans are always looking for people to make some positive changes in their lives, but we are a little stuck on those changes. There are so many people in Genoa City who seem to be making changes to their lives, and we don’t know that they are always good. They seem to be making people more miserable than they need to be, but there are some positives in the negatives. Maybe we are looking at things the wrong way. Maybe we are looking for people to make perfect changes and make their worlds bigger and better from the start rather than those who are making the effort to change at all. A positive change doesn’t need to be a huge one. It needs not be something major. It can be small and it can be significant just like that. So, we are going to go through our favorites from the 2018/2019 year.
Nikki
Nikki has made some small changes over the last year. She was coming off of a few things that didn’t work for her and her life. She was mad at her husband, and she was sleeping with her ex. She was making some horrible choices in her life, and she was doing all she could to destroy her husband, which was only hurting her and her kids, too. She was not in a good place for a while. We certainly aren’t saying she is in one right now, but she’s been making more positive choices to be part of her family and to do the things that are best for a family for some time now. She’s been putting her kids first. She’s been putting her family first. She’s been doing what needs to be done to keep things happy in her own life, and she’s been much better for it. We can’t decide if we like her better now or when she’s not even herself, but this is so much of what we love.
Devon
It’s been a terrible year for him, but he’s handled it with some class. He fell hard to the bottom after he lost his unborn baby and his wife, and then his father, but he’s been making the effort to come back. He’s taking some time from his life to focus on what is important. He’s trying to refocus himself and his priorities, and he’s doing a good job of it. He’s not always right. He’s not always making the best choices. He’s not always the one who does the right things. He’s not always the one who makes everyone happy or even good with their lives, but he’s a man who has been doing things that work for him. We like it, and we want to see more from him. He’s making good choices, doing good things, and he’s making the world a better place. We like it, and we like him. We hope he continues to make good changes in his life and that he doesn’t give up. We don’t want to see that, at all, ever. We want good for him.
Lily
She did make some changes, and we appreciate those. She put herself in jail by committing a crime that she didn’t mean to commit, by being honest about it, and by making the right choices even though they were the hard ones. She then continued to make better choices for herself and her family from the cell. She wasn’t going to let her marriage become more of what it was that was bad for her in the long term. She did some things that didn’t work for her in the past, and she put up with some things that didn’t work for her or her marriage in the past. But, she did make some choices this year. She chose not to let her husband continue to cheat on her a little at a time even though he’s been doing it for years by ‘accident’ each time. She chose her own life and her own feelings over him, and we are proud of her. She also chose to take herself out of the equation in so many ways, and that has been amazing to her.
