You’ve probably seen Adrianne Palicki a number of times between TV and movies and have maybe even confused her with another actor or two since she does bear some resemblance to a few other women. But her acting style is quite a bit different since she tends to be one of the many actresses that can take on widely different roles and somehow make them all stand out as their own characters instead of bringing one type of act to everything she does. While it’s true that her resume isn’t quite as extensive as others there is still a lot of time left for her to continue her career if she so desires. Keep in mind however that if some of the movies listed as her best don’t fit your idea of great or even good movies that this isn’t the goal, we’re here to outline HER best movies, not THE best movies. And to be honest, this list is pretty good when you give each movie a chance.
Here are some of her best movies.
5. Coffee Town
The whole point of this movie is kind of silly but it makes sense from a certain standpoint since Will is trying to keep the only thing he has, which is something that he doesn’t have to start with. It makes sense in a very convoluted way since the coffee house that he uses as his office is about to be taken over by a bistro and that might mean that he wouldn’t have a place to come to all the time or the girl of his dreams to fantasize over. When you put it all like this it sounds kind of juvenile really, but that’s a big reason why this movie works and why it’s pretty funny since it’s a denial of growing up and moving on that we all tend to feel at least once in life.
4. G.I. Joe: Retaliation
It wasn’t the dawn of a new era when G.I. Joe was finally brought to the big screen in live action, but it was at least a bit of entertainment that proved to be distracting as Adrianne took on the role of Lady Jaye. After the rest of the Joe’s were killed roughly near the beginning of the movie it was left to Roadblock, Lady Jaye, and Flint to gather what they could and reconnect with Snake Eyes in order to bring Cobra down and rescue the president of the United States so as to expose the organization. After that there’s no telling if there’s going to be another movie or if people are just worn out on it by this point.
3. Red Dawn
Some people loved this movie and others thought it wasn’t all that great since the first one was deemed to be so much better. But if you want the truth the only thing that really changed was the time period and a few other things that had to be updated. The Wolverines still got to play and the harrying techniques they adopted were still able to be utilized to the greatest extent. It’s possible that the actors who made the first one so great were those that many believed were impossible to replace, but at this point they were simply too old to take up their old roles again, and putting them in as extras might have been seen as pandering.
2. John Wick
Hey, anyone that can stand up to John Wick in a hand to hand fight is considered pretty awesome since even when he’s wounded this guy is an absolute nightmare to those that try to take him out. But the fact that Ms. Perkins was tossing him around the room throughout part of this fight was nothing short of awesome since it meant that he was still human and still fallible, even though he’s one of the toughest guys around. Her defeat was kind of predictable since John isn’t the kind of guy that just up and loses to anyone if he’s got a breath left in his body, but the fight scene was pretty impressive.
1. Legion
For some reason biblical movies that speak of the apocalypse don’t always get that much attention or that much regard, even when they serve a point or are fairly well done. It would seem that some folks might call this story line incomplete or not well-developed, but in all honesty this is a movie that played out in a raw, unfettered fashion that didn’t leave as many plot holes as people seem to want to think. Sure it’s always an eye-rolling moment when ‘one child’ can determine the fate of humanity. But overall this movie was a lot better than people give it credit for since watching two archangels slug it out was pretty cool.
She’s worth more than the movies she’s been in, but she’s done her best in every one of them.
