10 Things You Didn’t Know about Hana Mae Lee

In the world of design one has to really stand out to get noticed since so much can pass by the intended audience with such alarming speed that it’s easy to miss something. Hana Mae Lee is one of those that is willing to do what it takes to get people to stop and take a look at what she has to offer, and she’s not shy when it comes to telling anyone what she does and why. Her career thus far has involved her heart and soul and the effort it takes to put it out there for people to look at and possibly criticize, but she hasn’t cared since she’s ready to show people what she’s got and what she’s capable of doing. That kind of courage and gumption is something that separates the mediocre from those that are fully ready to take their place in the spotlight and bask in it while the moment lasts.

Here are a few things you might not have known about her.

10. She’s 30 years old.

At this point and time it almost seems that if you haven’t done something monumentally great with your life that you haven’t really lived. Those that have done such things before they hit 40 seem to be deemed as exceptional in their methods and their ambition since a lot of us that have hit our 40s can’t even state that we’ve done half of what these folks have done.

9. She’s been a model.

A lot of women that have varied interests have walked the runway and been judged accordingly since thanks to some models the attitude that they’re all ditzy and not worth much more than the garments they put on is about as false as a three-dollar bill. Most models do have outside interests and are quite intelligent, as Hana proves.

8. She’s been in commercials.

From modeling to acting seems like an easy enough transition, but the midpoint between the two seems to be commercials as it’s just a pleasant stop before really going full steam ahead into an acting career. It does make sense for the most part.

7. She’s done stand-up comedy.

Her brand of comedy is that edgy, ballsy, up in your face kind of stuff that some people love because it shows that the comedian isn’t afraid to go fringe and possibly offend some people. Those that get offended by comedy however tend to miss the point that being offensive is sometimes the goal so as to expose the absurdities in life.

6. She has her own jewelry and apparel lines.

It would be interesting to see how long a designer really has to work at the prospect of making their goods so much different than those of others that people will find them alluring enough to purchase in quantities that are great enough to make their efforts worthwhile.

5. Her career started in 2006.

To think that she’s done a lot of what she’s done so far in her career in just over a decade is insanely impressive, but it’s also fair to state that a good chunk of her success came before she was basking in the spotlight. Still, being as young as she it’s still impressive enough that she’s done so much.

4. She was in Pitch Perfect.

Pitch Perfect is the kind of movie that you may or may not like depending on how you feel about the cast, the plot, and the entire thing altogether. It’s not a bad movie but unless you enjoy watching people sing then it might not be your thing.

3. She was in The Babysitter.

You can say this much for Hana, when she plays a villain she definitely goes all out and makes you absolutely hate her. When Cole’s babysitter turns out to belong to a group of friends that practice human sacrifice he gets caught spying on them and has to be quick about running. When Sonya almost corners him under the house however he gets the drop on her and seals her into the crawlspace right before roasting her alive. Now that’s a death scene that people might actually cheer for. What? The bad guys had it coming.

2. She likes to be inspirational rather than trendy.

Hana has made it clear that anything and everything she does, including her fashion lines, are meant to be inspirational and not the latest trend that people pick up and then dump only a short while later. The challenge here is that eventually everything is seen as a trend, but if a person is smart about what they’re doing they’ll find a way to make it inspirational to others.

1. She’s guest-starred on a few shows.

Her filmography isn’t all that extensive but it does show that she’s made a few rounds and been on several shows as a guest at one point and time.

She’s an interesting person to be sure, and one heck of a movie villain.
