Though she gained popularity after appearing in the 2004 film Head-On, you probably know Sibel Kekilli for her role in the fantasy series, Game of Thrones. The German-raised actress of Turkish descent actually trained to be a certified public administration specialist. But, at the end of the day, acting took the cup.
Following her interesting career and achievements over the year, Kekilli is definitely someone to keep an eye on. With that in mind, here are a few interesting facts about her.
1. Her parents Immigrated From Turkey In The 1970s
As mentioned earlier, Sibel Kekilli was bred in Germany, and for the most part, she’s considered German. However, her parents are actually of Turkish descent. They made the decision to move to West Germany in the late 1970s. By the time she was born, they’d already lived there for three years. By that time, they’d already settled down in the area without any desire to move elsewhere.
2. She Thanks Her Parents For a Liberal Upbringing
According to Kekilli, her parents were quite liberal when she was growing up. In fact, she credits them for making her feel like she could achieve just about anything. Altogether they raised her to stand on her own two feet regardless of the circumstances.
3. She Enrolled In A Special Program To Work At City Hall
Kekilli was down with high school at age 16. As mentioned earlier, she went on to enroll in a special program that would teach her all there was to know about working at the local city hall. Altogether, the program was an intense one, lasting a full 30 months.
She enrolled and sailed through it, just as she had her previous schooling. Once she was done, she actually got some hands-on experience. Kekilli continued to work there for a full two years. After that, she decided to move on and try something new.
4. She’s Capable Of Doing Virtually Any Type Of Job
After working at City Hall in Heilbron for a couple of years, Sibel Kekilli decided it was time to shake things up. She moved to Essen, where she started working a whole series of odd jobs. During that time, she ended up managing a nightclub, working as a waitress, and even working as a nightclub bouncer. In a nutshell, she can work a lot of different types of jobs that require a different set of skills.
5. She Used To Make Adult Videos
While Sibel Kekilli was living in Essen, she also featured in a few adult-themed videos. For the most part, it was something she did secretly with the hopes that it would stay that way. Of course, once she became an actress, the news went public despite her efforts to keep her past under wraps.
