Most people are familiar with Marvel’s Luke Cage. However, what you might not already know is that he was recently filmed for the upcoming season 2 of NFL Combine. The current video clip is a mere 50 seconds long, but you wouldn’t believe what this individual is able to accomplish. In fact, once you watch it, you’re probably going to end up wondering if it’s actually real or if it’s just a joke.
Watching the clip is both amazing and mind-blowing, largely because human beings shouldn’t really be able to do the things that this person manages to do with ease. The first thing you see in the video is that famous tire that people in the NFL Combine are asked to flip over. It only weighs about 400 pounds, and you see it being moved in by three or four people because it’s so heavy that one person can’t move it. Then you see Luke Cage enter the scene and everything changes in an instant.
It starts out with him performing the broad jump. He manages to land right at 24 feet. According to the clip, this is 11 feet longer than the current world record. The next thing you see him do is manipulate that tire as if it were a toy. He takes something that most people would never even be able to lift an inch off the ground and flips it over like it’s a paperweight. It’s amazing, but it still isn’t really much of anything when you compare it to the things that he does later on in the clip.
Everybody has to run when they do the NFL Combine. That’s a major part of the test so you’re running is always timed. Of course, he seems to be faster than just about everybody else out there, but this probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise if you’ve seen him during the earlier portions of the clip. The thing that’s really amazing is how easily he does everything. None of it really seems to be an effort for him. He makes it all look as simple as taking candy from a baby. He doesn’t seem to be exerting himself any harder than most people would when they go for a relaxing evening stroll, yet he’s doing things that are practically superhuman.
Perhaps the most exciting part of the video comes right at the end. Remember that tire, the one that weighs 400 pounds? He takes it and picks it up, with no help from anyone around him. He doesn’t struggle with it, he just takes it and picks it up like you or I might pick up a sack of flour. Once he has it in his hands, he hurls the thing right through the air, several feet in fact. He then simply turns around and starts walking away with a smile on his face. Once you see the clip, you can’t help but wonder if he’s really that powerful or if there’s some creative editing involved. How on earth does somebody pick up a 400 pound tire and sling it through the air as if it weighed nothing at all?
