When meeting the new members of Below Deck Mediterranean that will appear in season 3 the chef says it best perhaps, though not in the same context, “Itsa meaty itsa cheesy”. For those of you that like this show, apologies, but in keeping with reality TV Below Deck is just that, cheesy with a lot of drama meat to go around. The show will be visiting Italy this time around when it returns. Italy is arguably one of the most romantic cities in the world, so you know that amore will be flying every which way when it comes to the crew and the interaction they have below decks and when they have some free time.
The three new members that will be joining the cast are Brooke, Kasey, and Conrad. Their experience on a yacht varies since two of them were kind of sheltered and lived a very comfortable life while the third has been around yachts for about four years. Based on that they might find different challenges and difficulties to get around, but in the end everyone has their strengths and their weaknesses and it’s going to be interesting to see just how they work around each other and the rest of the crew.
Brooke Laughton has apparently lived a life of great comfort and was an aspiring journalist while in college. However upon being accepted as a crew member aboard her first yacht she had to earn her way up just like everyone else and has done the work to get where she’s at. It still remains to be seen if she can operate under her current captain without any major issues, but the only snag could come when it happens that one of her male crew members develops a crush on her. Brooke is a woman that believes in love but the issue in such tight quarter is if that feeling will get in the way of the job or if she can keep it contained just enough to stay on track.
Kasey Cohen lived kind of a sheltered and privileged life up until her first yachting experience as part of the crew. However she has the kind of determination and the know-how to get things done and to adapt to her current task despite the fact that she’s one of the least experienced on the crew. That might cause her a bit of consternation however since without being entirely experienced it’s possible that she might make a few mistakes and get on the bad side of a few people on the crew. Hopefully her positive attitude and charismatic manner will allow her to get along rather than just go along.
Conrad Empson is the most experienced of the new crew members since he’s been working on yachts for the past four years. The only problem with Conrad is that his mouth gets away from him at times and he can’t seem to control it. He’s a bit cocky but he’s able to talk to people, which is a good thing since that’s part of the job.
