Local Vegas Singer Spills the Beans on Her “American Idol” Experience

Mikalah Gordon has been pretty good about spilling the beans on her American Idol experience and telling people just what it’s like to go through the process. The local Las Vegas singer has gone on to state that it was one of the greatest times of her life and was extremely inspirational as it helped to establish what she wanted to do with her life and how she went about getting what she wanted. The process of going through the waiting, the anticipating, and being nervous the whole time is pretty normal she’s said. People want to be the absolute best and at times nerves do get to individuals and skew their performance.

In her day the judges were Randy, Simon, and Paula, but she has nothing to say but good things about them and the new judges, especially Katy Perry and Lionel Ritchie. Her own experience was positive it seems and is a great memory that she gets to look back on. For a lot of contestants the bright lights and promise of fame is a big draw that brings them all together and pits them against one another for the chance to be a music star that can outshine a veritable host of people all looking to achieve the same goal. Some of them will advance and some will go home wondering just how they could have done any better. There are also those people that think that they did great but the judges were just being unfair. No matter how much a person likes or dislikes the judges however the one thing they can’t take away is that those people sitting in the seats and listening to their performance have been through more in their life when it comes to music than most of the contestants combined.

The judges are usually those that have been in the business or some facet of it and are thus a lot more experienced when it comes to the performing arts. They’ve earned their stripes in other words and are qualified to listen to others and deduce just how good they really are. Being able to sing to yourself is a great thing but if your voice is great to you but sounds like a raven cawing in an offbeat manner to someone else then chances are you have a high opinion of yourself or you haven’t had a lot of experience with music. It’s usually the former rather than the latter. Some people think they sound great and have to learn the hard way that they’re not the same caliber of singer that many other people are. It’s a hard way to find out but it’s taking a chance on something that people think is worth the trouble.

Mikalah at least has found a spot in which she likes to sing and can employ her talents on a regular basis. She enjoyed her time on the show and has nothing but respect for the program and the people that continue to compete.
