The “Fat and Sassy” Lady is All of Us in Winter

Being fat and sassy in the winter might be what a lot of people feel at times is the expected norm. Fat is definitely a term that a lot of us would use to describe ourselves during the holidays and the rest of the season that follows after. Let’s face facts, no one really wants to go outside when it’s freezing and the idea of doing anything but sitting inside and watching TV, reading a book, and cooking good stuff to eat is kind of unappealing. It depends on the place really since some areas are kind of nice even in the winter and might only require a little more warmer clothing in order to walk around. But for other regions stepping outside could feel like you’re stepping into the wilds of the Antarctic as you watch your breath freeze the moment it escapes your lips.

I’m not too sure how many people would agree that they’re going to just stay indoors and be fat and sassy throughout the winter but there are times when just staying inside seems like a much better idea than wandering outside. But getting fat isn’t much of an option for some people since it means that you’ve got to take it all off come next spring so that you can be in shape for summer. Some folks don’t worry so much about that since being fat and sassy is a year-round thing that they’ve gotten used to by now, but some of the rest of us will gladly stay sassy so long as we can get back in shape and stay that way. But like I said the winter time is kind of tough to remain in good shape since the holidays tend to open up so many tasty options when it comes to comfort food, sweets, parties, and various other occasions to get together with good food and good drink.

It’s a matter of willpower that not all of us have that allows some folks to get through the holidays without gaining ten pounds or more. The food alone is something that’s hard to avoid since it seems kind of rude to go to a party and not eat something. And drinking, while it’s not always condoned, is something that also increases during the holiday either because it helps to heighten the fun or it helps some people to simply get by. The holidays are fun for a lot of people, but are just another time of year to get past for others.

The sassy part is fairly easy though, since people are either going to be sassy or they won’t. It’s a state of mind that a person enters and decides to adopt as their own, not an affliction that can’t be reversed. Being sassy isn’t a bad thing really, it means you have some self-confidence that can manifest in a manner that some people mind find off-putting and others might find endearing. It’s all a matter of how you use it and around whom.
