As 2017 came to a close, we saw many celebrities and other famous figures finally being called out for inappropriate sexual behavior and harassment in their respective industries. Unfortunately, this is only continuing as we enter the New Year, with the latest celebrity to be brought into this horrible light is that of singer Seal. This news of him being accused of sexual battery comes just after he urged victims of abuse to come forward and not feel ashamed. We are going to let you in on a little more detail surrounding this shocking story and where we might see things ending up for the singer.
The Accusation Was Reported To Cops By Tracey Birdsall
Tracey Birdsall is an actress who has been in movies such as “Doomsday” and “Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter”. She and Seal had been neighbors to each other in Los Angeles in 2016, and developed a good relationship from that sense of community, but the actress has since claimed that the relationship was just that of good friendship, and nothing more.
The Incident Was Apparently Quite Graphic
The story that Birdsall reported to authorities is very detailed, and quite graphic at that. Birdsall’s story claims that she went to the singer’s house to return a kitchen utensil that she had borrowed, and that’s where things turned for the worse. Apparently, out of nowhere, Seal began to lunge at Tracey, forcing himself on her while trying to kiss her. This of course was not consensual, and after she called him out for it, he began to belittle her clothing choices, accusing her of asking for the unwanted attention. He then began to grope her breasts, all the while trying to make light of the situation. When she refused, he once again began to talk about her clothing choices, and groped her further. Birdsall has gone on to say that it was the last time she saw Seal after the incident occurred.
Denial
Of course, Seal is vigorously denying the accusations that have been made by actress Tracey Birdsall. He also plans to defend himself against any other accusations or court appearances that may come about from the reporting. The incident is currently under investigation by the authorities in the Los Angeles area. This, as we said before, has come in light just after he made a public announcement that he was in support of victims revealing their stories of abuse and making it known.
Although this recent incident reporting against Seal is quite new, we are sure that we will be hearing more about the story in the weeks to come. It just seems as though it is a never ending battle, hearing how sexual abuse and misconduct has spread and grown throughout the entertainment industry, and all throughout the world as well. It is time that we take a stand to stop this misconduct, and to spread the word that there should be no shame if you have been abused or mistreated in any way. It is time to give these victims the voice they so genuinely deserve.
