Woman Plays Carol Of The Bells On Her Bell-Covered Ugly Christmas Sweater

Given that it’s the season for it I’ve heard Carol of the Bells a lot, but never on an ugly sweater like this woman showcases. It’s something to watch for certain and the manner in which this act is constructed kind of makes the sweater look like it belongs to a technicolor cow that tried to have an udder lift that somehow went horribly wrong. That seriously is not meant to be mean since the woman put a lot of thought into this but that’s image that came to mind first and foremost. Thankfully it came and went the moment the clip started since it made my eyes widen just a bit to think on how long it took this woman to figure out just where to put the bells in accordance to how she would perform the piece.

It’s not that ugly of a sweater really, but it is something that you might not want to wear out on a regular basis unless you’re extremely comfortable with yourself and what you look like. The whole ‘ugly sweater’ thing has been kind of amusing since it came out and has only continued to escalate each year as new themes are discovered and implemented as people attempt to find new ways to enjoy them. People will actually have ugly sweater contests at work, in their community, and strive to come up with the most godawful designs they can find. A lot of professional sports teams have even got on board with it and have produced their own sweaters for people to wear since it’s become such a trend.

Out of all the trends to come along this has to be one of the strangest, mostly because it’s so purposeful that more people should have seen it coming. Sweaters like this have been made for so long, especially at Christmas, that people have been wearing them and no one has said anything for years. But now all of a sudden it’s become a trend because enough folks with enough pull on social media have found it charming and cute. Every year now people roll out the ugly sweaters and try to top the year before in some way, and this one definitely hits that mark. Of course she had use a prop inside the sweater to make it work but without the effect wouldn’t have been the same.

Another question I have is how long this took her to set up and then learn the Carol of the Bells so that she could perform it reasonably well. The song isn’t the hardest in the world but she had to know just where to put the bells so that she could hit them in a certain order that she would have to decide before putting the sweater and box on. Then she would have needed to practice a bit in order to get the cadence down and know just where each one was and when to strike it. This would have taken some practice, and obviously it wasn’t a highly polished act but it was still something fun to watch.
