Speechless Season 2 Episode 6 Review: “S-h-Shipping”

Speechless

On this Week’s Episode of Speechless JJ gets “Shipped” with another student. Ray and Taylor think about their future. Dylan brings pranking back to Lafayette.

Everyone starts to “Ship” JJ and the new student Nora at school because they both have Cerebral Palsy. After being told by multiple people that they should date each other JJ and Nora come up with a plan to get people to stop “Shipping” them by pretending to have a fake relationship.

While decorating the Homecoming Float JJ and Nora find out they are nominated for Homecoming King and Queen. They decide that they are going to give a speech about how wrong it is for people to want them to be together because they both have Cerebral Palsy.

When JJ and Nora do not get picked for Homecoming King and Queen they realize the school is making progress and is not as bad as they thought.

At the DiMeo house, Maya thinks that Ray and Taylor are having sex when she see’s the Do Not Disturb sign on his door. They are actually talking about future plans and their 401K’s. Maya and Jimmy think they made Ray weird because they don’t think about the future and Ray always does.

After Jimmy and Maya find Ray trying to set up Dylan with Kenneth, they decide they are going to help Ray not to think so much by going on a double date with him and Taylor.

While playing Mini Golf, Ray and Taylor realize that Maya and Jimmy are right about them overthinking things. That night at the Homecoming game Ray and Taylor make impulsive decisions like sitting in the first seat they find and buying $6 popcorn. When Ray tells Taylor that he loves her and she says that it is way too soon he plays it off like he was just kidding.

In the course of a conversation, Maya finds out the reason Jimmy doesn’t like to go to Vegas. It is because Maya told him over the phone while he was there that JJ had Cerebral Palsy. Maya surprises Jimmy at work with tickets to Vegas

Meanwhile, Dylan goes to the Student Council prank meeting and is disappointed when she learns that it is to put in place a “No Pranks Initiative,” school-wide. So she decides to come up with a prank of her own.

Dylan meets the famous Class of 1967 Pranksters, the “Prankenstein Monsters” of Lafayette. She gets them to agree to help her pull off a prank. Dylan and the Pranksters make Principal Miller’s car look like a Viking Ship and Dylan drives it across the football field.

Dylan realizes that the “Prankenstein Monsters” pranked her when she saw they were not in the car with her and they had shirts on that said, “You Got Played, Dylan.”

Overall I think that this was a really great episode.
