When Meta Mark Hamill Meets The Joker

When Meta Mark Hamill Meets The Joker

Who needs Batman when Mark Hamill is around? Well, maybe for anyone but the Jokester and the Trickster it might be feasible to run up the Bat signal, but in this case Hamill should be able to take care of himself pretty easily. After all Mark Hamill has voiced the Joker before, and he’s also done the Trickster. So it would be child’s play to trick either one of them in to thinking that the other was talking trash behind their backs, wouldn’t it? Most people wouldn’t think twice about stating that this meeting would be the end of Mark Hamill, but keep in mind who gave the Joker one of his most famous appearances.

It’s kind of amusing to think about Mark Hamill’s career and how it kind went up and down from the moment he became a part of Star Wars all the way to what happened afterwards. He remained a star for a while but then saw his popularity start to decline as distancing himself from the major motion picture kind of went awry. Out of the entire cast only a few managed to really keep their career going on an even keel after the trilogy was over, but Hamill wasn’t one of them. That’s not to say that he had nothing going for himself, but much like his movie mentor Obi Wan Kenobi, Hamill kind of dropped off the map after his time in the spotlight was over.

He would appear here and there in one production or another, but in terms of being mainstream he wasn’t all that noticeable until he finally started making TV appearances and eventually started getting back into the swing of things. It was when he started voicing the Joker though, I believe, that his career started its slow but eventual rise, becoming something that could be rekindled and eventually brought back from the wastelands where it had apparently been hanging out for so many years.

But now what he’s back it’s like he’s been renewed, his stock is rising swiftly once again and with even greater ramifications this time since the role he held in Star Wars has become something of a legend through what is now non-canon literature but is still capable of swaying the minds of fans all over the world. Whether he’s played as the Joker or as Grandmaster Luke Skywalker, he’s a figure that commands respect and is worth the effort of getting to know simply because of who he is. Aside from Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill is essentially the Star Wars expert because he lived the trilogies back in the day.

The idea that he would be anything other than great in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is hard to imagine. After all Han Solo was great when he came back, but it’s still a hope that Skywalker won’t be suddenly and shockingly removed from the trilogy after just two movies in. If there’s anyone that deserves to be allowed to see this new trilogy through to the end, even if it is THE END, it’s the man that’s proven that he’s much more than many people seemed to think. Come on, any guy that can outwit the Joker (wink, wink), can certainly turn Kylo Ren into a pile of mush.
