Disney alum Tiffany Thornton, as she seems to be known in so many articles nowadays has been under the gun for at least one thing in her life that was the talk of social media even when it shouldn’t have been. Two years after her first husband Chris Carney was killed in a tragic automobile accident she and her current husband decided to get married. Thornton had two children with Carney before his passing, and had to suffer a hailstorm of withering disrespect and unwarranted challenges via Twitter and other social media when it was discovered that she would be marrying another man only two years after her husband had died. The real question is why this is anyone’s business, and how long was she was expected to remain alone?
Here are five things you didn’t know about Thornton:
5. She’s currently a recruitment adviser for Champion Christian College.
Being a Christian herself this probably works out pretty well. I kind of wonder if anyone at Champion Christian recognizes her for the work she’s done on TV. It’d be something special to understand your adviser is someone that at one time was a pretty famous celebrity. I do wonder though if she’s still active and does an appearance now and again or if she gave that up.
4. She was primarily a sitcom star.
She did a few other things but she stuck mostly to sitcoms. This could have had something to do with her comfort level or that she just wanted to keep things simple and therefore not complicate her life in any way. This has been seen with some stars that find a way to make the small screen work for them and aren’t so ambitious that they need to get back to the big screen.
3. She also sang and appeared in music videos.
She diversified a bit and even did her own version of a few famous songs that would be easily recognized. Thornton was a rising talent in her day and had a wealth of skill that she could draw upon. Perhaps getting married and having kids set her in a different direction, as well it should have even if she made time now and again for her career. At least she seems to have her priorities straight.
2. She’s an alum of Texas A&M.
It’s often seen to be a big feather in the cap of a university when they can claim that they graduated someone that eventually went on to become a big star, or who had already been a big star when they started attending. It seems likely that such folks would be highly encouraged to come to certain events and speak or be invited to big games or anything that might allow their fame to rub off on the school.
1. She used to sing the national anthem at sporting events for her college.
She does have a very lovely voice and there’s a reason why she did so good with Disney. Being able to act is one thing but if you can sing as well then the Disney corporation is typically very supportive.
Seriously though folks, leave her alone for getting married again. She deserves to be happy just like anyone else.
