We’ve known Jake Gyllenhaal since he was just a young kid. We’ve seen him grow in Hollywood into one of the best actors in the industry. He also seems to be a genuinely nice guy–smart with his career choices and not bad to gaze upon at all. You don’t often hear much about him and his personal life in the media, and that’s always a good thing and difficult to do, especially if you’re an A-list celebrity. Plain and simple, we admire Jake. You couldn’t judge us for wanting to become friends with the guy, even though that’s not likely to happen in this lifetime. It doesn’t stop us from sharing what we know about him, though, just in case you’d want to give it a shot. If you happen to come across Jake in public, here are a few things you should know about him before you try to approach him with hopes of becoming friends.
1. He’s a health nut.
Jake likes to eat healthy. He also spends majority of his free time working out. So most likely, you’re not going to find him in establishments that don’t promote either one. We all know he’s in good shape because we see it in his films, so try the health talk with him if you ever get a chance at a conversation.
2. He’s a dog lover.
We aren’t suggesting for you to frequent dog parks just because you have this information. However, Jake has been spotted a few times walking his German Shepherd around the block, so you might actually get lucky. Just know that you shouldn’t fake being a dog lover just because. Dog lovers know when others are lying about their love for man’s best friend. Just feign curiosity and you should be okay.
3. He doesn’t like his photos being taken.
Jake is probably one of those guys who hate being treated like a celebrity. On this note, don’t ask him for a photo or a selfie; he’s not going to like it. He may do it just to be nice, but don’t expect him to want to spend any more time with you.
4. He likes music and films.
It’s been reported that Jake is a big fan of Iron and Wine. If you think that’s a restaurant, you need to look them up. They’re a band, of course, and Jake happens to like their music and many others. He also likes films, which is good because he’s an actor after all. These will be good points for conversation. Jake is supposedly very knowledgeable in general, so make sure you’re coming to the table with something worth hearing. Otherwise, don’t even bother.
5. He likes honest folk.
The truth is you just have to be yourself. Jake is a genuinely good person, and while he may be one of Hollywood’s elites, he’s also just another person living his life. Be real with him, and he’ll give you a chance. Don’t try too hard with the guy. If ever an opportunity presents itself for you to converse with Jake, take it easy and just be yourself. You never know; you might find yourself with a new celebrity friend.
