I happen to think that outtakes, pranks, funny moments off camera are usually best when they occur in darker films. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with outtakes from comedy movies but I think there’s an added element of surprise when you’re in the middle of filming something ominous and scary and you get humor out of it. Like I’d rather see outtakes from the movie The Shining than I would Dumb and Dumber. I think there’s more shock value. Anyway, that’s just my personal opinion.
Speaking of which, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was 100% the darkest Harry Potter film of the bunch. But things got pretty light when Michael Gambon and Alan Rickman decided to play a prank on a young Daniel Radcliffe. Alan Rickman tries to contain his laughter during filming of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban but as you’ll see it’s pretty tough.
This video is an oldie and has been viewed over 7 million times but it’s a great one.
