What you’ll more than likely hear Joss Whedon’s name for in the upcoming months is the movie Batgirl. Whedon’s moved over to the DCEU to try and bring some of his Marvel success over. Many don’t think it’s a question of if his adaptation of Batgirl will be solid but rather how he’s going to portray the character. But one thing we have to remember is that Batgirl is fictional and Whedon’s in the comic book universe with this one.
When in comes to reality, Whedon’s just as passionate about important subjects. Take this new short film he just created on Planned Parenthood. Whedon is tackling a real-life threat that could endanger millions of Americans. On Wednesday, he debuted a short film illustrating what might happen if Planned Parenthood shutters clinics across the country.
Whedon’s three-minute film imagines what women’s lives, and their families’ lives, would look like without access to birth control, cancer and STD screenings, and sex education. While the fictional storylines can be confusing as they follow the fate of three women, the bottom line is that the future will be very bleak.
