Alien: Covenant is ready to make its theatrical release this week so get ready for even more hype to start hitting your screens. The film has already seen as much marketing as any movie I can remember so I would expect the efforts to increase tenfold until the very day this thing hits theaters. Why do I feel like this movie is going to be a tremendous flop? I’m sorry but I just had to voice that. I don’t know why but I’m predicting a solid opening weekend followed by tepid reviews and then a colossal drop in ticket sales the following week.
However, don’t let me deter you from seeing the film. And certainly don’t worry about getting caught up in the hype. There’s no doubt that trailers and posters have been solid so enjoy them while you can. Speaking of trailers or clips, or anything, I don’t think anything so far in the marketing of Alien: Covenant compares to this crossover with none other than Rick and Morty.
