In the history of comic books perhaps one of the most popular and most analyzed characters of all-time is The Joker.  While The Joker is considered a total lunatic he’s also a genius, incredibly perceptive, devious, and has his own set of “rules” that while society may not agree are completely “sane” in his world, they are to him.  In fact over the years, many have argued that it’s not actually The Joker who is insane but rather his nemesis, Batman.   I’m not about to get into a philosophical rant about The Joker or analyze his psyche.  There’s loads of that information out there.

However, what I would like to do is point you to some facts you might not have actually known about The Joker.   Given his character has been around for around 80 years there’s plenty out there you probably didn’t know.   Spanning this run, be it comic books, television, or film, it’s interesting how The Joker has evolved over this time span as well as been interpreted by all the artists who have created him in their mediums.
