Emotions are something that cannot be controlled. Though a certain goth Teen Titan that I nicknamed myself after is the only exception. On tonight’s episode of Lucifer, our newly divorced Devil learns to channel his emotions in order to power up the Flaming Sword.
I literally face-palmed when Lucifer is reading a children’s book on how to deal with emotions. It reminded me of an episode of The Big Bang Theory where Sheldon consulted a children’s book on how to make friends. Seems that these two have quite a lot in common when it comes to feelings. The face-palming continued when Charlotte tried to speed up Lucifer’s emotions by getting him three women that resembles Detective Decker. You and your schemes, Mama Morningstar. Lucifer loves Detective Decker, not women who look like her! Whatever happened to not manipulating your son anymore, hmm? On the other hand, Lucifer’s triple-decker comment made me roll my eyes in amusement.
When Ella confessed that she, too, has seen a shrink from time to time shocked me. The lab technician is always so upbeat. It’s hard to imagine her having all that darkness bottled up. Though I guess we all have our demons (no offense, Mazikeen) to deal with.
The scene where Detective Decker is pouring out her feelings to Maze amused me greatly. The demoness zoned the detective out with rock music while the latter talked. Though I have to commend Maze for being there for Detective Decker at the memorial service for Debbie Lang, the Head of Admissions lady that got killed. It’s very sweet of her to want to make amends. That and it was humorous to see the two of them pose as a married couple. Detective Decker got to be a wife twice. Once as Lucifer’s and once as Maze’s. I much prefer the former rather than the latter. Mostly because I ship Deckerstar.
My heart broke for Trixie as she opened up about her feelings at Starford Academy about everything that’s happened. The little girl is trying to be strong for her mother so she wouldn’t worry about her. I know that Trixie wants to lessen her mother’s burden but she should know that she can talk to her Mom about anything. Good thing Lucifer is there to cheer her up. Even though it’s giving her driving lessons. She’s much too young for that, Lucifer! The hell are you thinking?! Oh, and Trixie? Love your drawing of Lucifer! Very well done!
A quick side note, I can’t believe that Lucifer would make a copy of Detective Decker’s car lock remote. That is beyond wrong. I’d say arrest his arse but the man can get out of handcuffs faster than you can say Barry Allen. I also can’t believe that he bought the lie that Madison told him about getting something from Detective Decker’s car per the latter’s instructions. You are the Devil, for crying out loud! You can sniff out lies a mile away! Maybe all this heartbreak is getting to you. I’m looking forward to seeing your old man (wish he was Morgan Freeman, but Timothy Omundson is awesome too) in the next episode. He’ll talk some sense into you and hopefully, my Deckerstar will start getting back on track.
