When you think about the sheer number of Simpsons episodes and the amount of puns, subtle jokes and obscure references in the show, it would take multiple lifetimes to go through it all. I liken trying to decipher all of The Simpsons nuances to trying to go to every single restaurant in New York City at least once: it’s impossible and you’ll never even come close. But I will say this. It’s pretty darned fun to try.
While there are countless “little things” The Simpsons offers in the line of detail and reference, they also have plenty of their own creative subjects that are conjured up from thin air. Today’s subject I want to focus on is magazines. In the history of The Simpsons we’ve seen our fair shares of magazines that characters on the show read, but said magazines aren’t real. To be honest it would be pretty awesome if they were real but sadly they are not.
I’ve taken the liberty of spotting 20 such magazines that are real in the Simpsons universe but not in ours. Let’s work together to make these fake magazines a reality:
