Wrestlemania 33: The Undertaker is Defeated and Charlotte’s Entrance Wows

There were plenty of highlights to Wrestlemania 33 yesterday.  Unfortunately I didn’t get my wish as I predicted there might be a Donald Trump appearance.  Oh well.  But in terms of the biggest news of the evening, in what may very well have been The Undertaker’s final Wrestlemania appearance, Roman Reigns is now the “face of the WWE.”

Reigns did the unthinkable and defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33, and the idea behind Reigns’ controversial victory was for it to serve as a “passing of the torch” from The Undertaker. But as true as that may be, WrestleMania 33 was much more so a passing of the torch from Cena to Reigns. Cena found himself involved in a midcard match made for Total Bellas while Reigns battled a man who has become synonymous with WrestleMania and whose match at the show is one of its biggest attractions every year. If that isn’t a sign that Reigns is taking over as WWE’s No. 1 guy, then what it is?

Now that Reigns will virtually take over the WWE there was one more particularly special moment of the night.  It was the entrance of Charlotte.  Rick Flair’s daughter walked down the same ramp that her father did 9 years ago at Wrestlemania 24.   Making her entrance more special was a parade of fireworks that went off and Charlotte raising her arms right in sync with the fireworks going off.  Plus her dress was talked about just as much as the pyrotechnics.

At WrestleMania 33 on Sunday, Charlotte faced off against Sasha Banks, Bayley and Nia Jax in a match for the Raw Women’s Championship. She was ultimately pinned by Bayley, who retained the title.

Here’s here entrance.
