The desire to mash two things together to make something completely new is an idea we’ve had for centuries. The earliest indications of our desire to mash up came with food. At some point a person said to themselves, “I wonder what would happen if I made a pizza but with buffalo wings.” It obviously happened way before that but the buffalo pizza slice is one of the most popular food mash ups I know of. While we’ll never master every food mash up, we’ve gotten pretty good at it.
In recent years media mash ups have become incredibly popular. Not only do we get TV Shows and Movies crossing over into each other’s universes but we also have tons of fans coming up with their own creative mash ups. They can come in the form of video, pictures, sound, you name it.
