Breaking Down the Numbers of the Biggest Movie Heists of All-Time

Breaking Down the Numbers of the Biggest Movie Heists of All-Time

Movies about big-time heists have been around for nearly 100 years.   You’ve got classics like The Sting, Gambit and The Italian Job up on through some of the bigger films like the Ocean’s franchise, Die Hard,  Now You See me, and plenty of others.   It’s tough to pick a favorite heist movie but I’d probably go with Heat even though they technically didn’t get away with it.   Amazingly the take from the movie Heat was only $1 million  Though there are just so many good movies to choose from in this sub genre of films.

Speaking of the take, website Gocompare decided to run the number of heist movies made starting in the year 1956 to now to see which movies had the biggest takes of all-time.  The infographic also analyzes who stole what and why.   I must admit these guys definitely did their research. Only two films on the list were over the $1 billion mark which was pretty surprising.  Only 12 made it to over $100 million.  Something tells me that future heist movies will be in the billions.
