Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the theater, “Jaws” arrives at London’s famous Royal Albert Hall for a screening accompanied by a live performance of the iconic John Williams score. Unfortunately it won’t be Williams himself doing the score but for all those folks who never saw Jaws, this would be your chance to see it in the ultimate fashion.
While it’s almost comical how fake the shark looks watching it today, the 1975 classic film by Steven Spielberg will remain to this day a movie that affected more people than probably any movie in history other than The Exorcist. Seriously, think about it. Jaws affected more people in their daily lives than any movie ever. Any person who has ever seen the film never looks at the ocean in the same way again. It’s just a fact. There’s no way around it.
Spielberg has credited John Williams iconic score for “half the success” of ‘Jaws’ and its easy to hear why. From the now-infamous opening notes of the masterful main theme, Williams’ score set the tone for the entire film and earned the composer his first of five Oscars and twenty-two Grammy awards.
If you happen to be in London I highly suggest catching this screening.
