As we head into a new episode of Gold Rush tonight, Todd finds monster nuggets on top of a mountain; Parker and Rick struggle with a conveyor; and Tony pits Monica against Kevin to see if the dredge is more efficient than a modern wash plant. Who knows what’s going to happen? Should be interesting but before diving into our next episode we wanted to take a closer look at Todd Hoffman, the funny bearded star of Gold Rush. So how much do you think the star of a show and avid gold miner would be worth?
Hoffman primarily accumulates his wealth through the show Gold Rush. While these numbers are from last year, it’s reported that Hoffman’s annual salary from the show is $400,000 and his overall net worth is around $5 million. Hoffman initially started off in the aviation business but after a number of years of decline in that industry in Oregon, Hoffman decided that it was time to try something new.
Hoffman was inspired by his father’s gold adventures in the 1980s and decided to leave his old job to pursue mining gold. Hoffman moved to Alaska with his crew to pursue his dream. The road was never easy and there was some initial failure but as you can see now, Gold Rush is in its seventh season and is going strong.
While Hoffman is popular on the internet accumulating millions of fans he still has his Gmail account posted on his Facebook page. My guess is that each season Gold Rush is on television we can expect to see Hoffman’s net worth rise.
