Captain America: Civil War star Sebastian Stan stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night to promote the film, which hits theaters this Friday. However, while he and Colbert did talk about Marvel and the MCU, their conversation also steered towards another one of Stan’s films, The Martian, and, more specifically, their mutual love of space.
In the video below, Colbert and Stan discuss what makes space so fascinating to them and if they’d ever actually travel to space if they had the chance. Stan also describes his very entertaining conversation with real-life astronaut Scott Kelly, who was on the International Space Station when he spoke with him. However, their talk didn’t go as Stan expected.
“It’s incredible to talk to someone on the International Space Station live, especially when they’re bopping up and down, and they give you an analysis of your filmography,” Stan said. “He actually went through the movies that I was in, and he was like, ‘That movie, not so good.'”
“So an astronaut criticized your movies?” Colbert asked.
“Well, why not?” Stan responded. “I mean, at least that’s a real superhero, right?”
