Your dream of a 90s boyband supergroup just became a reality. Sort of. If you ever imagined Nick Carter, A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, Jeff Timmons and Erik-Michael Estrada teaming up for a Syfy original movie, well then Dead 7 is for you.
In addition to getting credit as co-producer, Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys stars as none other than the “reluctant hero” Jack who corrals this unlikely bunch of characters for the zombie apocalypse. Expect lots of meta-jokes poking fun at their real-life careers while fighting in what’s sure to be some ridiculous situations. The very premise of a Western zombie movie itself is curious.
Larger than life, indeed! Based on positioning of the poster alone, A.J., Nick and Joey will most likely be the big heroes of the show. Hey, we need some of them to survive if we want there to be a sequel! With the success of the Sharknado movies, I wouldn’t rule anything out when it comes to these crazy Syfy originals. Plus, even if some or most of these guys end up dead by the end, there’s still plenty more ex-boy banders to pull from the late 90s/early 00s. Maybe not the big guns like JT just yet, but I would love to see JC Chasez starring in Dead 6 (or 8, depending which way they would choose to go with it.) Brian Littrell, Lance Bass, Ashley Parker Angel, Nick Lachey, even the Hanson brothers would all be awesome to see teaming up with Carter and company.
The Backstreet Boys/Nsync/98 Degrees/O-Town members not only all appear as zombie fighters defending a small Western town, but they also recorded a new song for the movie. “In The End” is streaming exclusively on Buzzfeed but you can also get a free download sent to your email address when you sign up here.

“The makers of Sharknado say Bye Bye Bye to Zombies” is enough of a tagline to get me watching! How about you? Arrange your Friday night plans accordingly, maybe even start up a Facebook event to host a viewing party with your friends because this is sure to be all that anyone is talking about next weekend.
Dead 7 airs Friday, April 1st at 8pm on Syfy. It won’t be released on DVD and available On Demand until June 6 so set your DVRs.
