To be honest, I’m pleasantly surprised on how much I like this show.
With a combination of Skip (the older brother I wish I had), his Teen Mom-ish sister Becca and younger siblings Marigold and Xander lusting over the same girl, Jessica, at their school has all the makings of a show that’s right up my alley.
The latest episode had Benjamin swept in a school election against Jessica, who was being backed by their teacher because she didn’t believe that Standrich was “President.” Xander, a 40-year-old Sterling Drapper Cooper Pryce employee trapped in a child’s body, was terrible a speaking to children (everyone is pal) so naturally his stepmom swooped in to spearhead his campaign. She got Standrich to POTUS job, so it shouldn’t be hard to get Xander (with the help of his campaign team the X-Men) the title of school president.
As for Skip, he got caught up in a drum circle of protestors even though his father thought their talk was getting through to him to not join them because it would look bad. Hey Standrich, nothing gets through to Skip unless it’s glazed or covered in sour powder. I should know, I’m the same.
In the end, the drum circle wasn’t really unified on what they were protesting and after having a lovely hot cocoa party with the POTUS, while Xander won the school election the Max Braverman way… bringing back vending machines!
Marigold was able to get redemption for inadvertently helping Jessica stealing Xander’s speech by anonymously sending a CCTV footage of Jessica doing the deed. Oh Marigold, how Frost/Nixon of you.
Ahhh…now I understand the title of the episode.
