10 Things You Didn’t Know about Swamp People’s Ashley Jones

You could make the claim that reality shows can make anyone famous, but you’d be stretching it a bit too thin since a lot of those on reality shows manage to get their few minutes of fame, but only the really impressive personalities tend to go any further. Ashley Jones is one of those that has come up and shown people that she’s worth paying attention to for a little bit but it’s not certain yet just how long that will last. At the most it would seem that her story is inspirational since she’s found a new purpose to her life after having gone through some hard times that forced her to look at her life closely and decide just what she wanted to do. Once she found her way however things started to turn around and she began to see what her life was really meant for and how she could turn things around.

Here are a few things about Ashley you might not have known.

10. She’s battled depression for part of her life.

Depression usually isn’t something you just ‘get over’ as some people would like to think, as it’s a very real condition most times that can incapacitate many people and make life seem utterly hopeless. But with that being said there are ways to help a person through their depression, it usually just takes a lot of patience, understanding, and the right course for a person to follow.

9. Hunting turned her around and gave her life a new meaning.

Whatever it was about going deer hunting at first managed to snap her out of her depression and made her feel alive again. She decided that this was what she wanted to do and things just started moving forward from there.

8. She was added to the cast of Swamp People in 2018.

After showing that she was a capable hunter and had the kind of drive that could be useful on a gator boat she was recommended for the show by someone that happened to know someone and helped her make the connection.

7. Ashley is adamant about how real the show can be.

She’s been put on record as saying that there’s no joke about being on a gator boat. The alligators fight just as hard as it looks like and they aren’t as easy to catch as the show might make it appear. It’s a dangerous profession and one that many of the hunters take seriously.

6. Her nickname is ‘deadeye’.

Ashley has been shown to have one heck of a good eye when it comes to lining up her target and is one of those that people find it easy to rely on when they need someone to take the target down with a minimum amount of shots.

5. She’s a guest hunter on Ronnie Adams’ boat.

She doesn’t seem to have her own boat but she’s a welcome addition since one can easily guess that hunting gators is usually better when you have someone that can help out and make the job just a little easier.

4. Ashley went through a miscarriage.

This was what sparked her depression it sounds like and there’s nothing else to say but that it makes sense. Women that go through a miscarriage will react differently, but depression is fairly common it would seem since the idea of losing a life that was growing inside of you is not just physically painful, it’s something that tears at a woman in a way that men just can’t understand and can lead to serious mental and emotional trauma.

3. It’s hard to tell if she has a net worth to speak of.

There’s nothing to say that she has a net worth that might be worth speaking of since she’s still pretty new to the show and is likely still working on a reputation. But if she sticks around this could possibly change since people do become worth more the longer they’re out in full view of the public, or so it would seem.

2. She’s hunted wild hogs too.

Hunting hogs was kind of what led to her being selected as a possible candidate for Swamp People in the first place since the person she and her husband met was impressed by her ability and thought that she could be a great asset to the show.

1. Apart from Swamp People there really isn’t much on her.

Honestly if you type in Ashley Jones on a search then you’re likely to get more than just Swamp People as a response since there seem to be more than a few Ashley Jones’ online and the number of hits are easily in the millions. But maybe that will change as time goes on and she proves that she’s able to keep up and thrive on the show, who knows.

Right now it’s nice to see that she’s done something she cares about and has battled through the worst part of her depression.
