There’s a bit of the diabolical bent to the film La Femme Nikita. She starts off as a drug addict and juvenile delinquent that is accused of killing a cop in cold blood during a robbery attempt. After this she’s arrested and then sentenced to life in prison as well as slated for execution by lethal injection in the American version of the film. While she is drugged her death is faked. She’s then recruited by a secret government organization that takes her and trains her to become a cold, emotionless killer that can’t be traced. It’s a thrill ride that is just as cerebral as it is visceral since it’s not all about the action but also about the psychological aspect as well.
In real life it would be terrifying to know that such people exist.
10. Anne Parillaud had to do one hundred takes just to get the right one.
It had to be kind of irritating to Parillaud that the director used the second take she shot but still had her do that many more.
9. Parillaud had to become an expert with guns.
For the role she had to be proficient with a lot of different guns and how to load, unload, and fire them. Obviously she did the firing on a range.
8. Parillaud was pulled over by police for unloading and loading a gun for practice.
This happened when she was caught in plain sight by police unloading and loading her practice guns. They thought the weapons were real.
7. The Mercedes driven by Victor belongs to the Australian embassy.
If you look at the plates in the film the identification is pretty clear.
6. This was Jean Bouise’s last film.
He plays the role of an embassy attache and this would be the last movie that he would star in since he passed away in 1989 before the film was released.
5. Some of the guns Nikita shoots are very rare.
There are reports that some of the weapons she used in the movie actually went to auction and sold for up to $100,00.
4. The odd-looking gun that Nikita shoots is an Austrian-made assault rifle.
She has to use a wide array of weapons throughout the film. This was repeated in the American version and in the TV show.
3. Bridget Fonda starred in the US remake of this film.
The US version was called Point of No Return and was very similar to the original movie though there were a few differences that the director decided to add.
2. The TV series was slightly different from the film.
For one the lead character didn’t really kill anyone but she did get framed for the act. Perhaps they thought that the original character was just a little too dark.
1. People tend to remember the TV series a little better.
It could be that the TV show hung around a little longer and that was why people got so used to it. Exposure has a lot to do with how well people remember things.
It might be time for a return to this movie, or another series.

Hundred bucks, eh? Is that US, Canadian, New Zealand or what?
My apologies. That was supposed to be $100,000.00, not just one hundred bucks.
