The Oscars or Academy Awards (whichever you like to call it) is supposed to be an awards show that featured the best work in film in a given year. While over the years pundits have argued it’s really just an elitist Hollywood “who’s who” praising themselves for being better than anyone, in theory we’re supposed to be appreciating all the fine movies that came out that year. This year it’s looking like movies such as La La Land, Moonlight, Hidden Figures, and others will be getting plenty of accolades. But little do people know that even some of the worst films of the year actually get nominations too.
