Youtube channel “Imjustsomerandomguy” had a pretty popular web series back in 2007 called “I’m a Marvel…and I’m a DC.” It was a series of low quality parody videos featuring action figures that “talked.” In one episode these guys predicted that a Wonder Woman and Justice League movie would be out in 10 years. Here we are, 10 years later, and we’re awaiting the release of both Wonder Woman and Justice League in the DCEU.
For the record, they also thought Thor and Captain America would be out after Ant-Man. And to be fair, even Marvel thought that at one point. The basically started the MCU based on Edgar Wright’s Ant Man pitch; it just got repeatedly delayed.
As for what’s in store for the next decade? Sadly these guys are done with their predictions. But I’m going to make one right now. The DCEU will have caught up to the MCU in the box office. It’s just a matter of time before they figure out a formula that works. Wonder Woman and Justice League might not even work but you can bet that Joss Whedon directing a Batgirl movie is a step in the right direction.
