Youtube Finally Removes Ads from Logan Paul’s Channel

YouTube has suspended ads on Logan Paul’s channel because of his recent behavior. In main, this seems to be because YouTube doesn’t want its advertisers to be affected by Paul’s shenanigans, which is something that would have an impact on its own advertising revenues. However, there was mention of the damage being done to YouTubers as a whole as well. Said suspension is on top of previous punishment, which saw YouTube removing Paul from Google Preferred as well as suspending his contract in regards to YouTube Red.

Paul’s name popped up in the news because of a video that he filmed while he was in Japan. In short, he was visiting a place called Aokigahara, which is a stretch of forest that is infamous for being one of the leading suicide destinations in Japan. As a result, when Paul came upon a victim of suicide, he filmed them before posting the footage on YouTube. On top of this, Paul performed a number of other questionable acts while he was in Japan, with examples ranging from him harassing local stores to him breaking the local traffic laws by sleeping in the middle of the road. None of these acts are serious enough for the Japanese authorities to ask for extradition, but suffice to say that they are not exactly impressed with him at the moment.

Regardless, when Paul posted the video of the suicide victim, there was a huge uproar. Said uproar prompted Paul to make a laughable effort to defend himself by claiming that the video was intended to raise awareness of a serious issue, but he soon switched course to apologizing for his actions. In fact, Paul released a much more serious video about suicide as well as suicide prevention not so long ago, which was accompanied by him promising to make a $1 million donation to non-profit organizations that specialize in dealing with said issue.

Unfortunately, Paul’s recent videos suggest that the lesson might not have sunk in. In part, this is because of footage showing him tasering a dead rat as well as him removing a fish from water for the purpose of giving it CPR as a joke, which doesn’t exactly suggest a great deal of reflection on his part. However, it should also be noted that he actually encouraged people to do the Tide Pod challenge, which is so foolish that it seems beyond belief. For those who are unfamiliar with the Tide Pod challenge, it is essentially daring people to eat Tide Pods, which are toxic enough to cause seizures as well as unconsciousness. Even worse, Tide Pods can asphyxiate people should the foam manage to reach the lungs, thus making them that much more dangerous. With that said, what is worst about this is that Tide Pods are already apparently much more appealing to young children than they should be, which can be attributed to a combination of their colorfulness, their squishiness, and their pleasing smell.

Summed up, it is no wonder that YouTube has decided to take further action against Paul, though it remains to be seen what will happen from this point forward.
