World Of Warcraft Competitive Cooking Show Debuts In South Korea

While the World of Warcraft movie didn’t fare so well with fans in the United States, that hasn’t stopped Blizzard from making sure they squeeze every single penny out of the popularity of the legendary RPG.  This time they’ve decided to take it to television in South Korea.   According to Geekologie

The show, whose name roughly translates to ‘WoW! Recipe? The Meal Is Ready’, will feature contestants preparing Warcraft inspired dishes and be hosted by famous South Korean chef and World Of Warcraft player Choi Hyun-seok. I imagine it will be a lot like the original Iron Chef from Japan except with a World Of Warcraft theme and without that main guy with the wicked gloves, abundant flair, and insatiable appetite for raw bell peppers.

So many questions.  So few answers!  My first main question is “what’s a World of Warcraft dish?”  I mean are there specific meats and spices that will be featured?  What’s the actual competition?  Is it timed?  Are their food judges like here in the states?  Will it in fact mirror Iron Chef or will it be something like “The Next Food Channel Star.”  One thing is for certain.  The United States would never try something like this.

While I cannot possibly see this show being popular, it’s not a U.S. show so I could be very mistaken.  If you’re interested in checking out the commercial for the show, see the video below.
