This is How Wonder Woman Should have Ended

Maybe it should be titled this is how Wonder Woman should have looked overall. Seriously I am dying laughing over here. Had Moana’s grandmother showed up in Wonder Woman even as a cameo I think people would have left the theater in tears just laughing. You have to admit it fits just a bit, but stating this is how Wonder Woman should have ended is only half right. The worlds most famous Amazonian princess is certainly spirited enough to undertake a mission that her mother might not approve of, but is naive enough to believe that she’s going to eradicate the love of war from people’s hearts all on her own.

Then we get to the actual war zone, thankfully after fast-forwarding a while. You do realize that across the DCEU and MCU that there have been several heroes that have participated in WWII right? Wolverine was in this war, Captain America was in this war, the guy that would become the Winter Soldier was in this war, and so on and so forth. The inclusion of other heroes seems like it would end the war quickly except for the fact that they’re all starring in the war in parallel universes. Can you imagine Wolverine and Wonder Woman teaming up with Captain America to win the war, as well as with Sabertooth, since he was there too?

Nah, me neither. Wonder Woman would be the advocate for a non-violent resolution while the guys would be slaughtering Nazis left and right. But wait a second, I’m pretty sure Wonder Woman did more than just knock a few guys out. That sword and shield and her immense strength probably ended a few lives that we didn’t get to see, so let’s not let her get TOO righteous. Plus, she was ready to shank who she thought was Ares the god of war at a formal party without really knowing for sure that it was him. Once again, being strong and extremely naive about the ways of humans strikes again. Life in the world of mankind doesn’t make sense to Diana obviously just as her diehard, all go no quit, impetuous manner makes no sense to those in power.

A lot of people would like to claim that her way would have made a lot more sense, but in the realm of reality humans don’t really need a god of war to instill hatred and violence in them. It’s a burgeoning part of our personalities from the day we’re born. Some embrace it, some shy away from it, and some learn to control it.

Anyway, back to the film. We find Steve in the cockpit of the killer plane that’s supposed to have enough of the deadly chemical to level an entire city, perhaps even more, and he’s suddenly struck with the idea that parachute might be a good idea rather than going all kamikaze. In the real film however this probably wouldn’t have been seen as poetic, though it’s likely that there was a parachute on the plane.

Don’t be put off and don’t get mad but the ending that shows how Wonder Woman takes care of the plane and then the bad guy kind of reeks of feminism on a level that says men aren’t really needed and are more of a hindrance. Wonder Woman’s awesome, she’s great, but let’s be honest and say that she was still coming into her own and DID actually need a little help.

Good movie, but the ending was fine as it was.
