I Will Be Tuning in To Watch the Alison Brie Wrestling Series GLOW on Netflix

For all you wrestling fans out there who have been watching wrestling for decades you will most certainly remember the acronym G.L.O.W.   It stood for Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling and was a real wrestling show that featured some of the fiercest and hottest ladies duking it out on the planet.  This was well before the time of WWE Divas and all the roles women have in wrestling today.  This is old school and that old school idea is coming to Netflix this summer.

Starring Alison Brie and Marc Maron, the comedy series GLOW will premiere on Netflix on June 23rd. Brie plays Ruth, a struggling actress who becomes a TV wrestler in a last-ditch effort to keep her star burning. Marc Maron will also star as Sam Sylvia, a has-been director who now finds himself in charge of an all-female wrestling league.  The show was co-created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch will act as showrunners. “Orange Is the New Black” creator Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann will executive produce.

Can we just concede that Netflix has officially taken over movies and television?  And they’re not even big in Europe yet!  Seriously I have to see this show.
