Westworld Trailer: Will You Be Watching HBO’s Sci-Fi Epic?

Westworld Trailer

After Game of Thrones airs its Season 6 finale next Sunday, HBO subscribers are going to be in need of a new epic, action-packed series to fill the void, and while this summer doesn’t appear to have anything on that scale, the fall premiere of Westworld could be the fix that viewers need. The much delayed series, which has been continually pushed back, still does not have an official premiere date; however, it will finally hit television screens this fall, and HBO is getting people very excited about what it can do in the sci-fi genre by debuting Westworld‘s all-new trailer last night before the highly anticipated ninth episode of Game of Thrones Season 6.

Per HBO, Westworld, which is inspired by Michael Crichton’s 1973 film of the same name, is “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, it explores a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged.” The series stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jimmi Simpson, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Ben Barnes, Simon Quarterman, Angela Sarafyan, Luke Hemsworth, and Clifton Collins.

Westworld is executive-produced by J.J. Abrams Jerry Weintraub, and Bryan Burk. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, who are also executive producers on the series, will serve as the show’s main writers, with Nolan directing as well.

Westworld‘s ten-episode first season debuts on HBO this fall. Check out the all-new trailer for the series below:
