I’ve always watched Inside the NBA and honestly the show easily carried itself with just Ernie, Kenny and Charles. But I think the collective sports fan world would agree that since Shaq’s been on the show it’s gone from entertaining halftime show to being one of the better shows on TV, period. Nine times out of ten I won’t even watch the actual games on TNT and I’ll just tune in to see what the fellas have come up with. “Shaqtin’ a Fool” is clearly the best segment but there’s just so much more. From pranks to involving all the staff, they’ve really turned Inside the NBA into a bonafide comedy series.
Speaking of which, to pump himself up for an upcoming show, Shaq took to a skill he’s always loved and put it on full display for the cameras. In a behind the scenes moment The Diesel was spittin’ bars over Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones Part II” beat as he walked through the TNT offices. Shaq rapped about everyone he encountered … including Kenny Smith and a guy he calls “The Light-Skinned Jermaine.”
Barkley was nowhere to be found unfortunately. Check out the clip from TMZ below:
