The day has just started. All of you are just getting in to work and are roaming around your feeds, emails, social media accounts, you name it. You’re looking for something interesting to look at. I can tell you this right now. Nothing you see today is going to compare to this Japanese Pokemon Ad starring Usain Bolt. There’s just no way you’ll find anything better. When you really think about it this ad should have come years ago but it’s nice to see the Pokemon Universe and Usain Bolt finally collide.
In Japanese, “Bolt” is ボルト (boruto), and “volt” is ボルト (boruto), providing ample ground for endless Pokémon puns in Japanese, such as the Jyuu-man Boruto (100,000 volt, or “Thunderbolt” attack in English). In this ad you get all the classic Bolt moves including his signature trophy pose. You’ll also hear him saying “I’m number one.” And you’ll also get that funny music that most Japanese commercials with foreign celebrities has. You know, that music that’s sort of, extra fast and kind of of joke?
Reminds me of that crazy Arnold Schwarzenegger commercial he did years ago for that energy drink. Anyway, enjoy this golden nugget below:
