The Top Five Weinstein Brothers Produced Movies of All-Time

The Weinstein brothers are known for producing some pretty interesting and impressive films but lately they’ve been in the news for a much different reason. It seems that Harvey Weinstein is now not only being accused of sexual misconduct and harassment towards a few women as far back as a decade ago if not longer, he’s been fired from his own company. Actress Ashley Judd is speaking out as well about her treatment at the hands of the Weinstein’s and has been quite candid about what went on. At this point with so many different sexual harassment, rape, and other heinous charges being flung about at prominent names in Hollywood it almost seems as though it might be a miniature epidemic going around. But until we know for certain just what’s going on let’s at least see which films these brothers are so well known for.

It’s a pleasing distraction at least.

5. The Forbidden Kingdom

When a young martial arts enthusiast decides against his better judgment to take place in the robbery of a local antiquities dealer he’s suddenly and inexplicably thrust into a fantasy world where he must eventually learn how to survive and to harness the power of kung fu. Despite all he thinks he knows however he soon learns that he knows very little.

4. Snowpiercer

In this post-apocalyptic world the last of humanity is to be found upon the Snowpiercer, a long, swiftly-moving train that is divided by class. Those that have nothing are further back to the rear of the train, while those of wealth and influence are kept to the front cars. After suffering enough at the hands of the rich a ragged band of the poor passengers gradually make their way forward only to realize a very unsettling truth once they reach the engine of the train.

3. Silver Linings Playbook

Crazy takes many forms, but love is usually one of the most devastating and unpredictable of all. When Pat is released from the nearby mental facility he attempts to sort out the life that he lost when he had his breakdown only to realize that the life he wants is no longer the life he needs. Instead he soon finds that the one woman whom he initially can’t stand is the one woman that can make him feel complete.

2. Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom

The story of Nelson Mandela is one that is fraught with controversy and a great deal of trial and tribulation that showed the strength and determination that was necessary to make a change in a time when change was not desired. To some he was a revolutionary, while to some he as a dangerous rebel. And to others, he was a hero the like of which had no equal.

1. Fruitvale Station

It was considered one of the best movies of its time, and for a good reason. It showcased a rising problem in this country that at the current moment has people lashing out at one another for reasons that are justified by one side and vilified by the other. If there is a problem in America today it’s that people can’t seem to get along under any circumstance, no matter who they are.

I’d like to say something nice and uplifting at this point, but with so many sexual harassment and misconduct allegations floating around it just doesn’t seem worth the effort.
