The Top Five Michelle Rodriguez Movie Roles of her Career

The Top Five Michelle Rodriguez Movie Roles of her Career

Michelle Rodriguez has left her mark in Hollywood by being one of the main stars of the mega-hit action franchise “Fast and Furious.” The 38 year old actress first broke into the movie industry after running across an ad for an open casting call and attending her first audition. She beat out over 300 applicants and solidified her place in the Film industry in one swoop. Today I’m going to rank the top 5 movie roles of Michelle’s career.

Let’s start with the film that started it all…

5. Girlfight

Remember in the introduction I said Michelle beat out over 300 applicants for a role and solidified her place in the film industry in one swoop? That movie was the indie flick “Girlfight.”

The movie took home a top prize at the Sundance film Festival and accumulated Michelle several awards for her performance as Diana Guzman, a troubled teen who begins training to become a boxer to channel her aggression.

Those awards include major acting accolades from the National Board of Review, Deauville Film Festival, independent Spirit Awards and many others. Not many people can deny how good this Film is.

4. Resident Evil

This was the first movie that I ever saw Michelle Rodriguez in. I think I instantly fell in love with her from that moment forward. Even though she wasn’t the star of the movie she shined on screen and the film spawned a franchise that spans six films and has brought in over $1 billion at the box office.

If you haven’t seen Resident Evil, you’ve been living under a rock somewhere.

3. Furious 7

This was the last “Furious” film Paul Walker appeared in before his tragic death in a car accident in 2013. The movie was a major box office success and to date is the highest earning film of the “Fast & Furious” franchise with over $1.5 billion in ticket sales.

2. Avatar

Quick fact: Avatar is the first film EVER to earn over $2 billion worldwide and the first film to gross over $700 million in the U.S and Canada. To say this film was a success would be an understatement. Sequels are scheduled to be released in 2020, 2021, 2024, and 2025.

1. Fast & Furious

Coming in at number 1 is the Fast & Furious. Do I need to even explain why? The film launched one of the most successful movie franchises in history In fact, it’s Universal’s biggest franchise of all time and is currently the sixth highest-grossing film series of all time with over $5 billion is gross ticket sales. Not to mention it has given Michelle her most high profile and longest running acting role to date. We all love this film series and can’t get enough of it.

Need I say more?

Conclusion

I can’t lie, I can’t get enough of this Michelle Rodriguez and can’t wait to see her in more films. She perfectly blends a combination of toughness and femininity that is hard to find or duplicate. Expect to see more of this talented actress in your theaters in 2018 as she’s set to star in two new films “Alita: Battle Angel” and “Widows.”
