If you like funny lady Tiffany Haddish, then you’ll be happy to hear this news. Haddish has signed on to star in The List, which is Tyler Perry next movie. Along side her will star Omari Hardwick and Tika Sumpter. In the works with Paramount Players, Perry, taking on triple duty, has not only written the movie, but will direct and produce it as well with the Paramount label set to release it on November 2 later this year.
Presenting along with Maya Rudolph at the 2018 Oscars she was a scream, this lady will definitely make you laugh and it’s great news to hear she’s being cast in Perry’s next movie. Sumpter has Ride Along and Southside with You under her belt, while Omari Hardwick has the A-Team and Kick-Ass. This trio has some serious talent they’re bringing to Perry and his new film.
As of now, no definite details on Haddish’s character have been given, except what information which can be gleaned from a short logline that was provided by Paramount Players that says the wild sister, played by Haddish, gets released from prison, and she returns to her sister Danica’s life, played by Sumpter, who is then forced to see that her online boyfriend whom she hasn’t ever met in real life is actually catfishing her.
Haddish is an Image Award nominee who stole hearts just recently, gaining her a ton of fans worldwide for her part in the comedy Girls Trip which was a surprise hit. She’s been hot on the trail ever since. She was the first black female to host Saturday Night Live as a stand-up comic, which made history in 2017. She went on to snag a hosting gig for the MTV Movie & TV Awards coming up later this year in June.
What’s up next for Haddish? The Last OG, a TBS sitcom, starring Tracy Morgan as well as Night School, an Universal feature movie which will star Kevin Hart. In addition, she’s also going to be teaming up with Melissa McCarthy in the drama The Kitchen. Ming Doyle and Ollie Masters wrote the comic book series for Vertigo which is going to be adapted for film. DC Entertainment and New Line Cinema are backing The Kitchen with Andrea Berloff coming along for the ride as both writer and director. Berloff also wrote Straight Outta Compton.
More about The Kitchen, the story is set in Hell’s Kitchen in the 1970s and it’s about an Irish mafia. After an FBI bust takes down all the mob leaders, their illegal operation is in jeopardy while they remain under arrest. So, to keep their business going, the mob wives take over. Furthermore, they end up running the criminal empire in a much more vicious manner than their husbands ever did.
As for The List, Tyler Perry has already began working on getting together a winning team. Haddish will most definitely bring her A game with her; she’s a very funny and talented lady. What she brings to the table is going to add to Perry’s already capable work. We can all look forward to a good show. Look for the movie to hit theaters on November 2.
