After last night’s The Walking Dead “Prey” I’m sure everyone’s attention is focused on Andrea’s well being. At present we know she is in The Governor’s fancy new torture chair located in what he refers to as his “Workshop”. The Governor is obviously intent on getting his torture on, he’s probably not particularly pleased that Andrea unleashed a hoard of Walkers, or as he calls them “Biters,” on him last night, and besides he probably eyes this as an opportunity to hone his pain infliction skills since he seems pretty confident that Rick is going to give up Michonne. Or is he? We have some hints, speculation, and true blue spoilers for next weeks episode that might shed some light on where things are heading.
An Unlikely Partnership
Remember when Merle went to Michonne to try to clear the air, well it turns out he was being 100% authentic. All of those scenes of Merle making overtures to team up with Michonne to take out The Governor were just foreshadowing as it turns out, because sometime between now and the end of the season Merle and Michonne will in fact get together with a common goal in mind – ridding the world of The Governor.
Andrea’s Fate
Things aren’t looking good for Andrea at the moment. You might recall that there was a suggestion that Frank Darabont loyal cast members were planning an exodus from the show, but there are currently two actresses from the Darabont Repertoire Theater maintaining roles on the show: Laurie Holden, and Melissa McBride. Taken at face value, that might not mean anything. This far into the game I’m sure both have well established loyalties to the fans of their characters, not to mention the hundreds of people that work so tirelessly to make The Walking Dead a great show; still, that rumor of a Darabont faithfuls exodus, no matter how old it is, becomes rather ominous when you have one of those actors handcuffed to a Dentists chair. We don’t want to spoil specifically what becomes of Andrea, but here’s a big hint: When it comes to Andrea’s fate, one major character will pay the ultimate price.
Death Count
At this point the momentum behind a Woodbury/Prison face off makes the clash not only unavoidable, but most certainly bloody and catastrophic. We know The Governor will not be unleashing as many walkers as he wanted since his pit zombies were broiled last night, but both sides are well armed and prepared to shed blood. In terms of how many bodies will hit the floor, according to one source as many as 21 characters will die in the finale. Since there aren’t 21 major characters we can assume many of them will be red shirts, but still … fear for everyone.
Will Milton Join The Prison?
Milton obviously made the correct choice by not following Andrea to The Prison. As much as I’m starting to like the guy, I don’t think he would have been much help when it comes to overpowering The Governor. But since we’re talking about bad decisions, let’s talk about his decision to torch The Guv’s pit zombies. The Governor is obviously onto him, so does that make his days among the living limited? Perhaps one indication is the fact that Dallas Roberts, who plays Milton, has taken a recurring role on Unforgettable. Then again, Unforgettable will air in the summer and Walking Dead airs in the fall. Could he potentially be free to work on both shows? Stay tuned.
