There’s something about the women on General Hospital that leave us wondering what is going on. They make poor choices. They do bad things. They are not all that great, and we cannot think of one who is really a good person all the time. We can, however, think of a few who make such bad choices and do such bad things that we love them endlessly. They might be far from perfect, but we love the characters on this show, especially of the female variety. They are strong and they are powerful, and they make a statement. Sure, sometimes that statement is that the law doesn’t matter, but it’s a statement, right? Here are our favorite female General Hospital characters to date. Do you agree, disagree, or not even care?
Sam
She’s a bit of a powerhouse, even though we like to think that she makes herself quite miserable. She’s very good at what she does, and she will always get the answers she needs, but she’s really not all that good with her own personal life and what that means to her. She’s someone who does not have the best decision making history or the best judgment, but she’s someone who will do anything she can for the people who she considers important to her. She’s a powerhouse who rarely has a problem saying what she thinks or what she does with her life, but she’s someone who will drop anything and everything she’s doing when someone genuinely needs her help in life. She’s that girl.
Bobbie Spencer
She’s fiery, and we like that. She doesn’t make the same number of appearances now as she did a few years ago, but she’s someone who never fails us. She is always the woman who takes over the screen. She’s always the one who has the best ideas, the best concepts, and she’s someone who knows better than to announce her plans before she’s had time to execute them. She’s protective of her family, but she’s loyal to those who are important to her. She’s someone who observes so much of what is going on around her, and she makes it her mission in life to get what she wants and protect those she needs to protect. She’s a powerful woman with a sharp tongue and a very quick wit. It’s hard not to love someone who says what she’s thinking and means every word of it, and we love her for that amazing quality.
Bobbie is someone who has had to get her life together more than once, but she’s always managed to pull through and do just that. She’s always managed to make her mark on the world, to make her situation better, and to make sure she’s able to maintain herself as someone who has a powerful situation in front of her. She is solid gold, and her character is one that has withstood the test of time in every which way. She’s amazing.
Carly
We have to admit that we didn’t always love Carly so much. There was a time when she annoyed us more than anything, but choosing Laura Wright to take over the role as a serious game changer for this character. Not that the other actress who had the role was bad, but this is a role that seems it was made for Wright. She brings out the absolute best in every quality that Carly has whether it’s good, bad, or ugly. She’s someone who makes the character seem so much more open and honest, and she embraces who Carly really is.
She’s passionate about so many things in her life, and she’s cold when she wants to be. Perhaps we love that most about her. She can be the most fiercely loving wife and mother and friend, but when she feels she’s been done wrong, she’s solid ice. She will cut you right out of her life and leave you wondering if there is anything you can do to get back in. (You cannot, by the way). She’s a stronghold, and she’s someone who makes the world her oyster when she feels that the world needs her more than it did before.
