The Real Housewives of Miami 2.02 Recap: Who’s Texting Who?

“Getting Acquainted” was the mission of last week’s season premiere of The Real Housewives of Miami, but in this week’s episode it was clear that the honeymoon was officially over for the new Housewives.

Dr. Karent/Ana and the Texting Wars

Last week, we were given some information from Dr. Karent Sierra involving her telenovela boyfriend Roldolfo receiving texts from Ana Quicoces. However, Ana claimed it was actually Roldolfo who continued to send texts despite the fact that he was dating Karent. As Adriana declared tonight, “Someone’s lying somewhere.”

This week, Ana spoke to Alexia about Dr. Karent, the texting mess, and how Rodolfo practically acted as if it was his first time meeting her. Ana felt that Dr. Karent was a bit clingy when it came to Rodolfo being around the other ladies, which could come from Rodolfo always flying out to do his show, making their relationship more on the long-distance variety. Dr. Karent looked like she’s ready to settle down, but Rodolfo had a bad first marriage and might be apprehensive about taking the plunge into marriage again.

The situation hit a head once the women met up at another event where Adriana decided to let Dr. Karent know about the rumors going around about the validity of her relationship with Rodolfo. Dr. Karent assured Adriana that there was nothing wrong with her relationship with the guy and that she already knew about Ana sending him texts, because he’s showed them to her. Personally, that doesn’t mean jack you know what, but whatever.

Ana later told Adriana that Rodolfo was the one texting her as well, and still does. This prompted Adriana to play Brazilian Nancy Drew as she brings Dr. Karent and Ana face to face where neither woman backed down from their story. Lea and Alexia vouched for Ana, but Dr. Karent wasn’t deterred and left the scene as quickly as she came, which was sad since she didn’t stay to see Ana’s evidence of Rodolfo’s texts. Someone is indeed lying… and he just caught a flight to go shoot his telenovela.

Joanna

The relationship between Joanna’s sister Marta and her fiancée Romain is equal to a high school girl being teased by her sister’s college boyfriend. Those stories don’t usually end well and someone is left with a broken heart, namely the high school girl’s sister.

After teasing Marta for not cooking enough while staying with them, Romain next flashed Marta with his “dirty penis” and “forest” of a bush, which freaked the poor girl out. Even though she’s 20. Joanna, you might want to help find Marta a place to live… far away from your man. Luckily, Lisa offered Marta a spot at her mansion, which Marta seemingly accepted. I smell trouble with this arrangement already.

Later, Romain and Joanna had dinner where they debated on who was at fault for postponing their wedding for the last five years. The first excuse was that both of them were busy, but now Joanna was ready to clear her calendar to get the big day planned, or call it off altogether. With Romain flashing her sister, the both of them not having sex in a year, and the constant procrastinating when setting a date for their wedding, Joanna has every right to be paranoid and thinking that “something is not right.”

Adriana

While visiting Mama Elsa, Adriana revealed that she was feeling a bit worried about getting married to her fiancée, Fredric. Of course, Mama Elsa already could feel this and told Adriana that she is not in love with Fredric as much as he is with her, meaning she wasn’t ready to be married again. Adriana then admitted that due to how her first marriage crashed and burned, not only was she hesitant to tread those waters again, she  would never rely on a man 100% ever again as well. Finding out your husband had another wife during your own marriage will do that to you…

Later, Adriana had dinner with Fredric and brought up how her friends are always asking about when will she get married, but immediately stated that she herself is not in a rush to do so. Hmmm…. So why bring it up?

Fredric declared that was ready to get ready that night, but Adriana was not ready and wanted to be sure that when she does, that it is forever. Great save, Adriana. The two then decided to wait until after the yacht was completely restored before bring up marriage again, which was code for Adriana to figure out another excuse to postpone a wedding again.

Marysol

Feeling that Marysol might have some bad juju in her office, Mama Elsa stopped by with some rice and perfume to rid the place of any negative energy. I kid you not.

The ritual involved Mama Elsa spraying perfume all over the place and throwing rice on the heads of Marysol and her clearly perturbed and clueless employees, who looked as if they were humiliated on a regular basis and probably dread any visit from Mama Elsa. In the end, however, Elsa felt that the place was taint-free of any foul mojo, which I guess trumps everything else.

Lisa

Sensing that her husband, The Good Doctor Lenny Hochstein, needs more pictures of her in his plastic surgery office, Lisa decided to give her hubby’s office a makeover featuring pictures of herself (with him) to let his other female clientele that he’s most definitely off the market. Later, we learned that Lisa is really interested in starting a family with Lenny and had tried for the last three years.

Lea

Not much happened with Lea this week, but we did learn about how she met her husband, a lawyer, after doing jury duty for a case he was working on. Smells like a Nora Roberts novel in the making.

While the texting scandal is a vast improvement over last year’s Black Gala Crash Incident, I hope it doesn’t carry on into the rest of the season. It’s obvious that Rodolfo is lying, and I can’t wait to hear what Dr. Karent has to say concerning the incident if and when she appears on Watch What Happens Live!
