The Five Best Spongebob Songs of All-Time

The Five Best Spongebob Songs of All-Time

Throughout the lifetime of this show a lot of people have either tried to avoid it or have firmly embraced it as one of the funniest and most engaging kids’ shows on TV. Spongebob Squarepants is perhaps one of the most ridiculously funny shows that has come along in a long time but it’s still been a polarizing show despite the profits it’s made, which are considerable. Some people feel that it’s not the brightest of shows no matter that it’s a cartoon and is somehow more ridiculous than anything that’s ever come on. That’s a rather bold claim to make, especially considering that the revenue for the show is in the billions. But aside from that, the show has been one of those that managed to capture the attention of a lot of people, kids mostly along with many adults, and has been seen as a cultural phenomenon that isn’t likely to be forgotten anytime soon.

Here are some of the best songs from the show.

5. Bossy Boots Song

To some, Spongebob is the kind of cartoon character that epitomizes the need to remain silly, childish, and full of wonder about the world. But to others he’s kind of a goofy character that doesn’t have a whole lot of redeemable qualities since there’s really nothing to him and his show is filled with the kind of innuendos that people don’t want to see in a kids cartoon. Unfortunately those same people seem to forget that before Spongebob came around the cartoons we all watched as kids weren’t much better since they were filled with violence and the type of innuendo that we rail against now.

4. Jelly Fish Jam

Considering that one of Spongebob’s favorite pastime is catching jellyfish this song make a lot of sense. The carefree nature of this cartoon character is no doubt what attracts a lot of people and has made them capable of sticking with him despite the fact that there isn’t a lot to the character. He’s a sponge, he lives underwater, he looks as though he could be used in any modern kitchen scrubbing pots and pans. But somehow he’s been made into a cultural icon that has sold everything from plush toys to toothpaste and everything in between. His popularity isn’t understood by everyone but then again that’s not required.

3. Christmas is Mine

You know Spongebob had to be a part of Christmas since he’s an all-year round kind of cartoon that can celebrate just about anything. Of course there are those that would question how a sponge and his undersea friend would know how to celebrate anything since the idea of them understanding human holidays would be next to impossible given their geographical distance from anything and everything human. But then again if a person is going to be a realist concerning a cartoon then they’re not really there to enjoy the show, but to tear it apart simply because they have nothing better to do with their time.

2. My Tighty Whiteys

Along with his friends and the environment in which he lies, Spongebob is the kind of character that really doesn’t need a lot of understanding to enjoy. It’s a cartoon, things happen when they happen and the characters are made to react as they will given the situation and the environment. Those that gladly condemn one cartoon for being too nonsensical are those that maintain a very hypocritical view of pop culture since everything has its ups and downs when it comes the overall big picture. So yes, Spongebob is a very silly and ridiculous cartoon, but at the very least it’s been a joy to many of the viewers that have been taken in by it.

1. The SpongeBob SquarePants Theme Song

You had to know that the theme song would be on this list, it’s the one song that kids go crazy for when they hear it since it means that the big yellow sponge is going to make an appearance and make them laugh uproariously from start to finish. The fact that it’s sung by a pirate is kind of perfect since it has to do with the sea after all. But when this song comes on some people cheer and others just groan according to whether they like the show or not. Those that do know they’re in for some quality entertainment while those that don’t are always free to get up and walk away or change the channel.

The varying opinions on Spongebob and whether he’s really worth the effort to watch tend to matter most to individuals since some folks just don’t like the cartoon and others kind of shrug their shoulders and let their kids watch it since it keeps them entertained. Overall though the success of the show kind of speaks for itself.
