It’s almost surreal to watch Stephen Colbert go off on Donald Trump. It’s not because of the fact that he’s a late night talk show host who is doing is job and that’s what he has to do. It’s because the material he works with just doesn’t seem real. It’s almost as if he’s still on the Daily Show and doing some kind of Colbert report. But alas, on last night’s show which featured Billy Eichner, Mel B, and Gilbert Gottfried as guests, Colbert read a direct quote on Donald Trump starting his “job” as POTUS. Here’s what it says:
“One of the first orders I’m gonna sign – day one – which I will consider to be Monday as opposed to Friday or Saturday. Right, I mean my day one is gonna be Monday because I don’t want to be signing and get it mixed up with lots of celebration….”
Seriously folks. These are the words of our next President of the United States of America. I’m speechless. However, if you didn’t get a chance to see last night’s episode you’ve gotta take a look at the interview with Billy Eichner. There’s just no monitor that can measure the amount of energy this guy has. It’s hard to believe some people still don’t know about Billy on the Street. Anyway, here’s Colbert’s monologue about Trump. Have a nice day folks.
