Colorful clay and mudstone badlands as seen from Zabriskie Point in the Death Valley National Park. Death Valley is a place where the highest temperature on Earth was ever recorded—56.7°C (134.1°F). However, during winter, it is a very pleasant place to visit. This shot is from a Christmas Day sunset a few years ago.
