Inside the NBA is one of the most entertaining shows let alone halftime segments on television. It was solid when it was just Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson, but when Shaq arrived the show reached new levels of popularity and humor. These guys don’t just analyze basketball. They make fun of it when necessary and praise it when appropriate. In case you haven’t been following the show, one of the most popular segments is called “Shaq’tin a Fool” where Shaq essentially rips on players in the NBA highlighting their hilarious mistakes with clips. He pretty much rips on everyone who deserves it but JaVale McGee is far and away his favorite and most used target.
After repeatedly putting him in this segment, the Golden State Warriors center finally had enough of it and a Twitter war of words ensued. It got to the point of McGee pretty much wanting to fight Shaq. I imagine Barkley was completely amused by this because he’s the “old school” guy who can’t stand when players make dumb plays.
But last night Shaq was there to let everyone know the beef is completely squashed and that he’d never even mention McGee’s name again. Why was the beef squashed? Because Shaq’s mom told him to squash it. Man, why are people so sensitive? If you want to stop getting ragged on, stop making dumb plays. Shaq says it best below. I 100% agree with him. As does Barkley.
